PURPOSE:To set a head gap automatically to a correct inclination direction, by providing a means for discriminating a tape running direction in a prescribed position of a case detecting this means for loading of a recorder to discriminate the running direction. CONSTITUTION:A hole 12 for discriminating a tape running direction is provided on the side face of a rear part of a cassette case 11, for example, in one half side in the thickness direction of the cassette case 11. Meanwhile, a cassette recorder is provided with pawls 13 and 15 for discriminating the position of the hole 12, and a switch 14 or 16 is made conductive when the cassette case is loaded. A head inclination switching mechanism is operated by this conduction of the switch 14 or 16 to set the inclination of a head automatically. |
