Electric machine stator winding end bar insulation - comprises sealing resin within box formed from facing U-profiles of dielectrics materials

The stator winding bars have connection terminals (15,16) belonging to different phases, isolated by dielectric screens (18), formed as a box, surrounding each terminal. The boxes around each terminal are formed from 'U' profiles (21) of moulded insulating material placed face to face, and each box is separated from its neighbour by an insulated tangential support (20). The 'U' sections are formed so that when assembled they have a converging inlet for the stator winding bar. The boxes are filled with an insulating resin to form a hermetic seal, the combined insulation resistance of the resin and the box approaching that of the original bar insulation.
