<p>A neutron and gamma ray flux detector which can be operated without auxiliary energy is described, having an emitter core wire (1) and at least one metal band (12, 13, 14, 15), surrounding the emitter core wire, for forming an outer emitter layer (2). A total diameter of the emitter core wire with the band or the bands is at least of the order of magnitude of 0.4 mm, and the surface area of the emitter core wire, covered by the band or the bands, is at least of the order of magnitude of 10 to 90% of the total emitter surface. The band or the bands have at least a thickness of the order of magnitude of 0.02 mm and can be essentially formed as straight circular cylinders or as open spirals. If several bands are used, they can consist of different metals. <IMAGE></p> |
