Train axle detector with travel direction indication - monitors voltage induced in circuit defined by rails and spaced bridging straps

The detector has two straps (SV1,SV2) extending between the parallel rails (SCH) at two spaced points within the detection zone (G), to obtain a rectangle containing a conductor loop (LS) which has conductors extending parallel to the rails (SCH) and the bridging straps (SV1,SV2). The conductor loop (LS) is supplied with a given frequency by a signal generator (S), with the rails (SCH) coupled to a receiver (E) tuned to the same frequency for evaluating the voltage induced in the circuit provided by the rails (SCH) and the two bridging straps (SV1, SV2). Pref. the conductor loop (LS) has a crossover point at the centre of the rectangle defined by the rails (SCH) and the bridging straps (SV1,SV2).
