Pacemaker with means for emitting stimulation pulses and means for changing the mode of operation, with further means which activate the logical signal links to be produced for at least two modes of operation for the transmission of signal states as response to different control signals, linking of signals and modes of operation by switching means being provided in a manner such that the transmission and/or processing of different input and output signals or signals representative of control times is suppressed or permitted as a function of the mode of operation chosen, the control signals being transmissable by remote control by means of external programming means.
