PURPOSE:To prevent a tape from being flawed, by detecting a variation of a position of a tape loop in 2 stages, and controlling a capstan motor and a reel motor by the first and second level detecting signals, respectively. CONSTITUTION:Between a file reel 1a and a machine reel 1b, a file column 2a and a machine column 2b are provided, and a boundary between an area A and B of capacitive sensors 5a, 5b, and a boundary between an area B and C are set as the first level V1 and the second level V2, respectively. For instance, in case when a tape T is wound at a high speed, when a tape loop position has exceeded the first level V1 and has entered the area B, the capstan motor is decelerated, and in the event of such an abnormal case as it has exceeded the second level V2 and has entered the area C in spite of said countermeasure, the reel motor is stopped. In this way, a variation of a position of a tape loop is detected before an abnormal state of the tape loop is detected by vacuum switches 3a, 3b. |
