In the case of an inter-floor staircase comprising tread boards (4) which are fastened laterally on vertical bars extending between the floors (1) of a building, the manufacturing tolerances, assembly deviations and structural tolerances can be compensated for particularly well by using particularly simple parts in that the bars are cross-sectionally C-shaped profile rails (2), and in that angular supports assembled, as appropriate, with the assistance of an eye bolt are provided. The horizontal leg (9) of said supports has a central threaded bore by means of which it is screwed onto the threaded bolt (7) of a screw, which can be clamped on the load-bearing strip of the profile rail (2), and the vertical leg (10) of the supports is screwed onto the tread board (4) from beneath by means of a screw (12) passing through it in the longitudinal direction. For easier vertical adjustment, the vertical leg may be provided with a screwed sleeve (11). The profile rails (2) are preferably at the same spacings and the angular supports (9, 10) may also be used in order to fasten the ends, located opposite the profile rails (2), of the tread boards on a wall (13). <IMAGE>
