The invention relates to a hydraulic flow-regulating valve according to Fig. 1, e.g. for controlling cold-water coolers in underground mining, in which a flow of medium, e.g. the cold-water inflow, passes axially through a valve cylinder in which a piston slide provided with a choke is guided. At the piston skirt, the piston slide has a multiplicity of radial bores as a fluidic connection to an annular space defined by the cylinder and at least partly by an inner sleeve. Radial bores of the inner sleeve lead into the annular space. In this arrangement, the piston slide preloaded against the direction of flow with a spring sitting on the inner sleeve controls radial bores of the sleeve with its piston skirt, and, with the aim of eliminating greater losses of the medium in the event of leakages from the hydraulic circuit protected by the flow-regulating valve, provision is made for the seat (20) of the spring (19) to be arranged in an axially movable manner on an arm of a hydraulic pressure balance (22-23), the other arm of which is loaded with another flow of medium, and for the deflection of the balance (22-23) to enable the piston skirt (10) to run over the sleeve bores (15, 16). <IMAGE>
