An electrically operated window lifter mechanism for a motor vehicle comprises a support part (1) attached to the vehicle, on which support part (1) a control member (27) in the form of an internally toothed frame and driven by an electric motor (26) is pivotally mounted. The teeth (32) engage a pinion (33) to operate a lifting arm (38) which lifts the window (40). The lifting arm (38) forms a continuation of a part (30) of the control member (27) which connects the lifting arm (38) to the pivot point (28) of the control member (27).
