The unit consists of a tubular block (1) whose exterior is fixed to a primary structure of a suspension unit such that the block is orientated vertically. The inside of the block is connected by an elastic mass (4) to the outside surface of a vertical mounting shaft (3) coaxial to the block and designed to be fixed to the secondary structure. The elastic mass (4) is part made up of a partially cylindrical sleeve (5) with a horizontal axis (8) directed longitudinally in relation to the vehicle which is at right angles to the mounting shaft (3). This elastic mass is stiffened in one axis by a curved rigid plate (9) and in the other in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle by honeycombed material to give a relatively lower stiffness. Use/Advantage - A elastic articulation block for the front suspension arms of a vehicle which allows forward and backwards articulation about a horizontal axis notwithstanding the orientation of the vertical mounting shaft that is so positioned for ease of assembly and takes up less space.
