The valve drive for two valves has a cam (40) and a forked tappet (5) in contact with a ball joint (7) connecting the tappet with two valves (6,8) via two arms (56,58) which extends perpendicular to the camshaft. The contact surface of the tappet with the cam is formed to produce a point contact allowing pivoting of the arms around a pivot axis perpendicular to the camshaft. ADVANTAGE - The valve drive does not require play adjustment.
