PURPOSE:To obtain an electrostatic latent image developing device of high fidelity and stable image quality by forming a magnetic field in the spacing between a magnetic body regulating the thickness of a magnetic toner and a toner supporting body, and concentrating the magnetic lines of force to the magnetic body thereby regulating the thickness of the toner layer. CONSTITUTION:A member 10 which regulates the layer thickness of a magnetic toner 12 is formed of a magnetic body, and the magnetic lines of force of the magnetic field generated by a magnet roll 9 are concentrated at the member 10. The magnetic toner ranges like yarn along the magnetic lines of force and the toner density decreases in the part of the spacing between the member 1 and a sleeve 8 for supporting the toner. Therefore, it is possible to regulate the thickness of the toner layer formed on the sleeve 8 stably to desired thinness without decreasing the spacing between the member 10 and the sleeve 8, and the electrostatic latent images of an electrostatic image holding means 1 are developed with high fidelity and stable image quality by the toner extending as specified until it arrives at the developing part. |
