The object of the invention is to provide a process with which small porcelain-like articles of any kind, such as ornaments, jewellery or other objects, can be produced economically without firing and without particular specialist knowledge and special equipment. As the necessary modelling composition, cornflour is mixed with dispersion adhesive according to the formulation and kneaded together with light-fast colorants from the printing industry until the composition no longer sticks to the hands. The modellable composition remains ready for use for weeks if air is excluded, and articles such as flowers, animals, jewellery etc. can be moulded. The finished objects cure in air after 24 hours and, for special effects, can be covered with coatings to obtain increased resistance and attractiveness. For the production of flowers, the individual parts thereof (leaves, petals, etc,) are first produced and then joined together. In the case of pictorial sculptures, these are modelled in their entirety. The composition can also be forced into moulds for the production of large quantities.
