PURPOSE:To improve the stability of a compound superconductive coil by winding a cold-work-hardened oxygen-free copper wire with a compound superconductive wire to form a coil, thereby reducing a distortion produced at the superconductive wire at the time of producing large electromagnetic stress as small as possible. CONSTITUTION:An oxygen-free copper wire cold-work-hardened at a sectional reduction ratio of 15-50% is wound with a compound superconductive wire of niobium tristannate or vanadium trigallate, etc. without metallic bonding to form a coil. In this manner, the properties that the oxygen-free copper wire increases its strength due to the work hardening and specific resistance at 4.2K affecting thermal stability is saturated can be utilized, thereby enabling to reduce a strain produced at the time of producing large electromagnetic stress. |
