<p>The drop shaped ocarina comprises a body (1) with a mouthpiece opening (2) which is connected to a resonance chamber (4) by means of an air conduit (3) extending along the symmetry axis of the body (1). The air hole (5) and the labium (6) are provided in the transition area of the air conduit (2) to the resonance chamber (4). The resonance chamber (4) has, at least approximately, the shape of a lens and its major axis is at least approximately parallel to the axis of the air conduit. The body (1) comprises at least four holes for the fingers (8) and consists of two symmetric half shells. This ocarina fulfills all the requirements of a melodious musical instrument, easy to play and of rational manufacturing costs and is also a jewel to wear.</p> |
