Selector mechanism for vehicle gearboxes - has integral locking cams and selector finger which project over gear element recesses

The selector mechanism has a control shaft with a radial selector finger, which engages in recesses forming selector channels. Locking cams and slot guides form units to lock the selector elements next to the chosen channel. The cams act with walls of the non-chosen elements, and the chosen element is displaceable within the slot guide. The locking cams (28,30) are integral with the selector finger (6) and are located above and projecting over the recesses (26). The cams are surrounded by wall sections (26a) of the selector elements (14), next to the recesses. Each cam has a slot guide (32,34) which is slightly larger than the width of the associated element wall sections.
