The Parent Patent No. 2203520 described a cable junction box, e.g. a pothead, made of plastic material and filled with a fully crosslinked silicone rubber. In this addn. an auxiliary tube is inserted centrally in the protective casing so that the casting compound can be supplied from the works in the space between it and the casing, closed by a radiation funnel made of conductive plastic. When applied to the cable core, the auxiliary hose can be extracted. This saves the handling, etc. of the compound on site so that the fitting can now be done by unskilled personnel without trouble.
