A water outlet fitting with a housing which has at least one inner chamber through which water flows. Fitted in the chamber is a silencing body, in the form of an elongated, elastically compressible body which has a cross-section such that it can be penetrated from the exterior into the chamber by one of the water inlet or outlet openings and is of such a length that it fixes itself on the walls of the chamber. The silencing body is intended to sit loosely, but in a largely immobile manner, in the chamber. <IMAGE>
