PURPOSE:To obtain a new piping member light and strong as compared with a conventional piping member, excellent in durability and weatherability, easy in processing and capable of being inexpensively supplied in large quantities. CONSTITUTION:A piping member consists of body members 11, 12 at least supporting load each constituted of a laminate consisting of a core material 13 composed of resin foam and the composite material 14 bonded to at least one surface of the core material 13 and made of a thermoplastic resin compounded with 30-80vol.% of fibers. A material sheet being a surface material composed of the thermoplastic resin compounded with 30-80vol.% of fibers is heated to the glass transition point of the thermoplastic resin or higher to be superposed on the core material composed of resin foam and the whole is pressed and shaped by a mold to obtain each of the body members mainly supporting load and other reinforcing member is bonded to the body members, as necessary, to obtain the piping member having a desired cross-sectional shape. |
