A multi-layer polyethylene film especially suitable for garbage and refuse bags, comprising a first layer of at least 75 wt.% high pressure-low density polyethylene (HPLDPE), and at least a second outer layer of HPLDPE and low pressure-low density polyethylene (LPLDPE), in which the LPLDPE is less than about 25 wt.% of the LPLDPE plus HPLDPE total weight of said second layer.
