<p>PURPOSE:To provide a heat-generating composition composed of specific amounts of metallic iron, sodium chloride, sodium silicate, fillers, activated charcoal and water, and especially suitable for the warming and cold-protection of the body, e.g. as a body warmer or a hot pack which generates heat when brought into contact with oxygen in air. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. of the titled heat-generating composition is obtained by compounding (A) 40-60pts., especially 45-55pts. of metallic iron, (B) 1- 15pts., especially 1.5-10pts. of sodium chloride, (C) 0.5-10pts., especially 1-7pts. of sodium silicate, (D) 5-40pts., especially 10-30pts. of a filler, (E) 2-20pts., especially 3-15pts. of activated charcoal, and (F) 10-35pts., especially 13-30pts. of water. The composition evolves heat rapidly, stably for a long period, at a constant temperature, without crumpling or shaking the bag containing the composition, only by taking out of the sealed package. The product can be stored without causing the change in the heat-generating characteristics nor generation of hydrogen, and exhibits agglomeration resistance and the flow characteristics suitable for the continuous packaging.</p> |
