PURPOSE:To permit experiment under the conditons resembling to natural conditions while preventing the disturbance of the wind in a wind tunnel that occurs with the inflow and outflow of heat through the body of the wind tunnel by applying heat insulation on at least the flow regulating part or measuring part of the body of the wind tunnel. CONSTITUTION:The flow of the wind generated by a fan 1 disposed at one end of a body is expanded in a wind conducting part 2, and is regulated to uniform flow in a flow regulating part 3 where a flow regulating device 4 such as a grating is installed as well as a contracting part 5 where the sectional area of the body decreases sharply. If necessary, this flow is disturbed properly by a turbulence generator 6, after which it enters a measuring part 7 and is discharged to the outside of the body through a discharge port 9. Heat insulating materials 10 consisting of glass wool materials are covered over the entire circumference of the part 3 and on roughly the entire circumference of the part 7 excluding the part of the body for observing the inside. The inflow and outflow of heat through the walls of the part 3 and the part 7 is prevented by this, and the convection in the body and the difference in density are eliminated. Ideal experiment in the wind tunnel is accomplished even with a slight velocity of wind. |
