PURPOSE:To protect a photosensitive drum surely, by arranging to cover the drum opening surface with a cover in interlocking with its operation, when a process kit having a built-in image forming means such as a photosensitive drum, a developing device, a cleaner and an electric charging device etc. is taken out from a machine main body. CONSTITUTION:When a process kit 14 is taken out from a main body C, a lever 17 is moved from the position B to the position A. Then, sliding plates 26, 27 are slided from B' to the direction A' in interlocking with the above-mentioned movement. These sliding plate provided with notches 34, 35 are arranged to fit to joggles 21, 22 of a cover 18 when the kit 14 is filled in the body C. Accordingly, when the plates 26, 27 alide from B' to A' direction, the cover 18 is also moved in interlocking with it and covers a photosensitive drum 3, therefore the drum is surely protected in case of removing the kit from the main body. |
