A workpiece loading apparatus in a rig for testing aircraft wings, for example, comprises a double ended servo jack (15) which actuates an upper drive lever (18) coupled by a tension strap (26) to a lower drive lever (19). The drive ends (22) (23) of the levers are coupled to contour boards (32) mounted on the wing surfaces by whiffle trees (30, 31) so that the single jack applied both upward and downward forces to the wings.
