PURPOSE:To obtain a grid substance with the good retentiveness of an active material by pressing the grid substance after it is cast continuously and deforming/its small lateral bones. CONSTITUTION:The pattern of a grid substance consisting of a lead alloy is continuously cast using an engraving roll on which surface grid grooves are chased and a flat roll with a smooth surface. Then small lateral bones 3 and 3' are pressed so as to be arranged right and left in a zigzag in the vertical crosssection of the grid substance G and a recessed section 4 is formed inside the small lateral bone 3. Since such a formed grid substance G allows the structure of the small lateral bones 3 and 3' to be rather complicated, the retentiveness of an active material which is filled in it is exceedingly improved. Especially when the recessed section 4 is formed during pressing, the active material can effectively be prevented from being omitted. |
