PURPOSE:To perform the characteristic measurement of a head while fixing a magnetic head, by forming a ring shaped slit through the coupling of two independent cylinders at the outer circumference and contacting the magnetic tape on the magnetic tape via the slit. CONSTITUTION:The 2nd cylinder 2 is coupled and fixed to the 1st cylinder 1 with two support members 4, and a ring shaped slit 3 is formed by it. A magnetic tape 6 used for the measurement with a holder 7 is wound on the outer circumference of the 1st and 2nd cylinders 1 and 2, and each magnetic head 8 is held with a holding plate 9 and contacted with a prescribed contact pressure from the inside of the slit 3 to the inside of the magnetic tape 6. In the measurement of characteristics of the magnetic head 6, the cylinders 1 and 2 are driven in a constant speed with the motor, and an erase signal is applied to the erase head and a prescribed recording signal is given to the recording head, allowing to reproduce the recorded signal on the magnetic tape 6. |
