PURPOSE:To enable precise detection of the density of toner by cleaning alien substances adhering to a transparent partition member located in front of a toner density detector formed of an optical reflection density meter, etc. CONSTITUTION:A partitioning transparent plate 16 of a toner density detector wherein an optical reflection density meter 10 detecting a toner image on a photosensitive drum 1 is incorporated is driven to rotate through the intermediary of a motor 11 and cleaned bt a cleaner 15 fixed by bonding to a bracket 19, whereby alien substances and the like are removed. Accordingly, the effect of stains on the transparent plate 16 does not occur, and thus precise detection of the density of toner can be performed. |
