PURPOSE: To produce a mesoporous aluminosilicate having a mesopore structure having a uniform distribution of the pore diameter, small Na content and a large specific surface area. CONSTITUTION: (1) This mesoporous aluminosilicate is a porous aluminosilicate obtd. by calcining a composite body comprising active silica, aluminum salt and cationic surfactant. This aluminosilicate has 10-100Å average pore diameter and >=400m<2> /g BET specific surface area and contains aluminum atoms coordinated with 4 or 5 oxygen atoms. (2) The production of the mesoporous aluminosilicate includes a first process to bring a sodium silicate soln. into contact with a cation exchange resin to prepare an active silica, a second process to mix and react the active silica and a cation surfactant in an alkali region and to add aluminum salt during the process to produce a composite material of silica, alumina and surfactant, and a third process to calcine the composite material. |
