PURPOSE:To increase the magnetic characteristics, wear-resistance and corrosion- resistance, by newly adding an additive element to an amorphous magnetic alloy thin plate of high saturated magnetic flux density forming a core for a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:A core for magnetic head has a content as shown in equation and is formed with a thin plate of amorphous magnetic alloy >=40mum in thickness. In equation, M is one or more types of transition metal elements other than iron group elements, Ru and Cr, and X is one or more types of glass elements other than Si and B. In the amorphous magnetic alloy thin plate, Fe composing ratio p is 3-7%, Co composing ratio q is 83-97%, and Ni composing ratio r is <=10%. Further, Ru is =0.01-8at%, Cr is 0.5-8at%, and M is <=4at%, and in the glass element, Si composing ratio k is 0.5-20% and other glass element composing ratio is 0-2%. |
