摘要

The prodn. of coated ceramic fibres, ceramic fibre bundles or ceramic fibre fleece comprises: (a) prodn. of green fibres (I) by a known method; (b) coating with at least one coating precursor (II); and (c) pyrolysis. Also claimed are coated ceramic fibres etc. in which the base fibres consist of material(s) which can be obtd. by pyrolysis of (I) and the coating consists of material(s) derived from a precursor (II) which can be coated onto (I) and pyrolysed to form a closed layer.
