PURPOSE: To make an SDI packet and an SDDI packet, match with an ATM cell which are suitable for transmitting sound/video data with a broadcasting equipment and the like. CONSTITUTION: In the first stage of eight bits/ten bits conversion, dummy data (d) of one bit are added to the respective bytes of data on the header of the ATM cell and data of first three bytes of a payload following the header so as to convert them into nine bits. 45 bytes from the fourth byte to the forty eighth byte in the payload are partitioned again into nine bits × forty words. In a second stage, a value obtained by inverting the logical value of the ninth bit is added as the tenth bits of respective words. Thus, the ATM cell of one word/eight bit is fitted to the transmission packet of the one word SDDI system or the SDI system. |
