PURPOSE:To prevent an engine stop, by deeping the second control means not in operation till a car speed is decreased to not higher value than the preset value at selection time of a low speed or reverse shift. CONSTITUTION:A control device 62 operates the second control circuit 66 to command all cylinder operation in such a manner that a latch circuit 82 detects low speed or reverse shift selection of a speed changer by a detector 86, and a circuit 88 detects a car speed not higher than a presest value to decide a start condition, while an AND circuit 74 detects separation of a throttle velve from an idle position by a detector 78 to detect a start. Accordingly, immediately before clutch engagement, all cylinder operation is preformed, and an engine stall is never caused due to shortage of output power. And even if a low speed or reverse shift is selected by an inverter 76 and the detector 78. at an idle position, for instance, at waiting for a signal, and idle cylinder operating condition is maintained, and fuel consumption can be saved. |
