PURPOSE:To have a battery with excellent anti-leakage performance and good storage durability by covering the surface of an insulative packing for battery with an adhesive layer and allowing it in the half-hardened state to form the sealing with the aid of a sealing plate provided with rough surface. CONSTITUTION:In the process of manufacturing an alkali battery, non-aqueous solvent battery, air battery, etc., the surface of the insulative packing 8 is covered with an adhesive layer 9 made of a nylon combined polyamide resin etc. This adhesive layer 9 will, in the half-dried condition, form a surface with a roughness of 4-100mum and seal the battery through occupation of the gap formed against the mating metal sealing plate 6. According to this method, the virtual area of the adhesion surface of the insulative packing 8 with the sealing plate 6 increases, and generation of cracks in the adhesive layer 9 will be eliminated to assure excellent sealing performance. Thereby the battery will not suffer from leakage of electrolytic liquid even under storage for a long period to give a good stability. |
