The end of the fibre bundle or cable (1) is covered by a glove-like cylindrical sleeve (11) with a circular end face (13), from which protrude sheaths (15) of equal length (L). Their number equals the number of fibres (6) in the cable, and they are arranged around the circumference of the face (13) at the same angular spacing. The cable end is fitted with a cylindrical dielectric support having the same number of peripheral V-grooves in which the respective fibres are bedded. The sleeve (11) is placed over the cable end and heated to achieve a tight fit. The spliced optical fibre card for its use for connecting optical fibres to electronic equipment in a frame.
