Water vapour sepd. from the conc. soln. is polluted with volatile prods. The water vapour is intimately contacted with water collected by condensate at the outlet of the evaporator's heating circuit. The contacting unit, e.g. packed column, delivers purified water while volatile prods. are entrained in the vapour which is recycled. The vapour is pref. compressed in order to provide the heat required by the evaporator which produces the vapour. The compressor may be in the line between separator and contactor or between contactor and evaporator heater circuit. Pref. the heating circuit of the evaporator is vented to evacuate excess volatile matters which remain in gaseous phase as the water vapour is condensed. The installation is simple and inexpensive and the recycling system extremely convenient when vapour compression is used to supply heat to the system.
