PURPOSE:To perform excellent transfer and separation, by forming flat black on an image carrier corresponding to the tip of a transfer paper and avoiding the transfer after the separation, in transferring a toner image on an image carrier on a transfer paper and separating the transfer paper with the 2nd corona discharge of substantially opposite polarity. CONSTITUTION:When solid black image alpha is formed at the tip of a transfer paper 10, the separation from a photoreceptor 1 is made easy and the adsorbing force of the transfer paper 10 to the photoreceptor 1 is reduced. Thus, the separation can be made stable. This solid black image is transferred on the photoreceptor 1 again. The solid black region alpha required for the stable separation is sufficiently 3-8mm., depending on some range due to the copy speed, width of separation region and property the transfer paper. |
