The angularly adjustable lathe tool uses a flat swivelling head (2) to mount a demountable polygonal cutting plate (3) on a haft (1), the plate part-housing into a head hollow of the reciprocal form. The hollow is sited in the upper face of the head of which the swivel axle is formed by a central clamp screw (6) engaging a tapped haft hole (37). Identical locating notches (52) on the rear edge of the head are engaged selectively by the beak of a radially mobile bolt (48) to set the cutter angle, the bolt being actuated by a lock. The notches may be 'V' shaped for engagement by the pointed end (51) of a cylindrical bolt, the comprising a screw (54) with a part conical head engaging a bevelled bolt tail. The clamp screw may secure a strap (5) applying the cutter and a cutting-breaker (4) to the head.
