PURPOSE:To perform decoloring by injecting an electron and a proton at the same time and coloring by ejecting them at the same time and to perform a high speed display, by using a specific solid electrolyte material. CONSTITUTION:On a glass substrates G1, G2 electrodes E3, E4 are formed and a WO3 layer L3 and an electrolyte layer L4 are deposited on the electrodes in order. WO3 to which Au is added or a material consisting essentially of WO3 to which Au is added is used as said electrolyte material. WO3 and Au-WO3 become a colored or non-colored substance by injecting the ejecting electron e respectively. For example, WO3 is arranged to be in the colored state in advance, and then Au-WO3 is formed on it. |
