PURPOSE:To reproduce colors of original picture with high fidelity by a non- linear masking treatment and a combination of specific cyan, magenta and yellow inks. CONSTITUTION:A color image is recorded by employing a masking process with the aid of a polynomial expression including a non-linear term with density signals of blue, green and red color used as variables and at the same time a combination of water inks containing yellow dye of formulaI(wherein R1 is amino, etc.; R2 is phenyl, alkyl, etc.; R3 is alkyl, phenyl; X1 is halogen, alkyl, amino, etc.; j is 0-3; the number of sulfo group is 1-3), magenta dye selected from formula II (wherein R4 is cyanine, halogen, etc.; R5 is amino, alkoxide, etc.; R6 is H, alkyl, etc.; k is 0.1), formula III (wherein R7 is H, acyl, etc.; X2 is halogen, alkyl, etc.; L is 0.1; m is 0-3) and formula IV (wherein R8 is H, lower alkyl, etc.; R9 is H, alkyl, etc.; X3 is alkyl, halogen, etc.; X4 is alkyl; n is 1-3; p is 0-4) and cyanic dye of formula V (wherein q is 1-4). |
