In an operating table (1) with hydraulically movable table elements, especially table board parts (8, 9) and a table column (3), and with a multiple-user control system (25) which projects on an extension arm into the working area of the operator and comprises a selection lever (24) for the individual adjustment functions, a solution is to be provided that permits control of an operating table with technically simple means and hence represents an economic solution that permits, in particular, a very substantial pivotability of the extension arm and is not restricted to a specific number of control functions. At the same time, simple means are to ensure one-handed operation, that is, the operator of the table should have to use one hand only for execution of the control function. This is achieved in that a mechanical control gear (31, 38) which acts upon a multiple adjustment valve (35) in the bottom region (2) of the standing column (3) of the operating table (1) is provided in the extension arm (23) for transmission of the control functions set via the selection lever (24). <IMAGE>
