<p>The exclusive-OR gate has three parallel lines connected to a main line at the input end of the gate. Each parallel line has a bipolar transistor or a FET connected into it. Each transistor is controlled by one of the gate's three inputs. Three parallel output lines are connected to the output end of the parallel lines. Each output line has two series bipolar transistors or two series FETs. In a second configuration, the three parallel lines with their three transistors are replaced by a single transistor or FET and three diodes. Each diode is connected directly to an input. The six output transistors remain. Two further circuits are described, each having two inputs instead of three. The numbers of transistors and diodes are correspondingly reduced.</p> |
