The invention relates to a multi-purpose shed envisaged primarily as a barn, made of prefabricated compound units with a gable roof construction which is based on a support holding it at its lower end or close thereto. According to the invention intrinsically rigid and stable supporting elements are provided to support the roof framing, rafters or similar blocks, which may be set up on the ground without requiring a great deal of preliminary work to be set up securely, and which additionally create further space and in certain designs simplify ventilation of the interior of the shed.
