摘要 PURPOSE:To shorten the work time, to enhance the reinforcing effect and to prevent the bad influence upon optical transmission, by forming a reinforcing tool with a shallow groove part for a strand and a deep groove part for a core and using a hot-melt adhesive as the adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing tool 1 consisting of a heat resisting member formed with a metal or the like is formed with a V-shaped shallow groove part 2, where an optical fiber strand is stored, and U-shaped deep groove parts 3 where core parts are stored in both sides of the V-shaped shallow groove part 2, and an electric resistance heating body 6 is stuck to the inside face of the groove part 3. A hot-melt adhesive film 7 is formed on the surface of the heating body 6, and a strand connection part 9 is put in the shallow groove part 2, and cores 8 are put in deep groove parts 3, and power is supplied to the heating body 6 to heat and melt the film 7, and spaces of cores 8 are filled up to join cores 8 and the reinforcing tool 1 as one body, and finally, a cover 11 is attached. Consequently, the junction strength is high, and the reinforcing effect is high, and the work time is short because of only melting, and influences of the transmission loss or the like of fibers are prevented because of no chemical reaction.
