A fine filter, esp. for compressors, comprises a two-part casing closed by spring force. The lower part has the outlet pipe and a peripheral beading around its top edge and contains the filter insert. The upper part is a damping cap and contains the inlet pipe. The lower edge of the upper part has an open hinge formed at one side to engage beneath the beading of the rim of the lower part; radially opposite to this hinge there is a hook-shaped leaf spring on the upper part which can engage on the lower part of the casing. This filter is partic. suitable for small compressors to be installed in constricted spaces as it requires very little space for opening it.
