Slide valve with a longitudinal bore in the slide, from which narrower transverse bores and further transverse bores further away from the centre of the slide branch off. So that the hydraulic braking and smooth slowing-down are retained and power loss during the acceleration is avoided, two paths for the oil flow are arranged in the piston, where the oil discharge from the consumer is prevented at one of the paths by means of a non-return valve but is possible in the opposite direction, while the second path is closed in a controlled manner at an operating position without a non-return valve and for this purpose each of the narrower transverse bores is arranged in the slide in such a way that, in the neutral position of the slide, it leads into a groove connected to the consumer, and a non-return valve is arranged in the longitudinal bore at least on one side of the same between the entrance of the two transverse bores into the longitudinal bore, which non-return valve in each case opens in the direction of the allocated further transverse bore arranged at the same end of the longitudinal bore.
