A pack, which consists of a plurality of articles and which is held together by means of a foil wrapper, is provided, in the region of each article, with a hole of sufficient size, through which a price-marking label can be attached directly to the article. For this purpose, the apparatus has a number of suction members (24) equal to the number of articles in the pack (16), and all the suction members are arranged on a lifting frame (20) which is lowered pneumatically until the lower suction nozzles of the suction members grasp the foil and lift it off from the articles. The lower edges of the suction members are heated and melt annular orifices in the foil. The melted-out foil pieces are sucked through the suction members into a container (34). <IMAGE>
