The invention relates to an apparatus for multilayer, continuous compression of comminuted materials in a funnel-like container by means of a pressure piston. According to the invention, said funnel-like container is divided into several cells in the plane of the pressure piston and between the pressure piston and the compression channel there are located plunger pistons which are connected on two sides and the stroke movement of which is effected perpendicular to the direction of movement of the pressure piston. By this means, products of different contours and coloration and having a specifically altered composition over the cross-section can be produced in a single-step production process. In particular the most suitable material for the purpose can always be used for the various cross-sectional regions of the product.
