The invention relates to a measuring wheel set by means of which it is possible in the case of rail vehicles to measure the horizontal forces on the wheel sets without influencing the wheel support point in driving mode. Eight sensors each are arranged on three measuring cross-sections (I, II, and III). Two sensors each, which are offset by 180 DEG , form an arm of a Wheatstone measuring bridge. The measuring voltage across this bridge is a measure of the tensile or compressive stress sigma occuring. Horizontal forces (Y1 and Y2) can then be determined from the measured tensile or compressive stresses. <IMAGE>
