PURPOSE:To make a high-quality copy possible from the first copy after separation, by executing automatically various copy processes for a photoreceptor to eliminate the optical memory, which the photoreceptor holds, when the upper part and the lower part of a copying machine main body are joined again after separation. CONSTITUTION:When a copy paper 9 is jammed in a carrying path during the copy operation, a detaining member 18 is released to separate an upper part 15 of the copying machine from a lower part 16, and the jammed paper is removed. In this case, since the upper part 15 is separated along the carrying system, the paper is removed easily. After removing the paper, the upper part 15 is joined to the lower part 16. In this case, an external light 19 is irradiated to a part 1a of a photoreceptor 1 when the upper part 15 is separated, and the optical memory effect acts upon this part. For the purpose of eliminating this optical memory, a detecting switch 20 which is closed for joining between upper and lower parts is used to drive an optical memory eliminating device. The copy operation is performed after this driving, and thus, a high-quality image is obtained from the first copy after separation. |
