The grinding appliance is provided for grinding the disc-shaped knives of a fleece-cutting apparatus, in which a plurality of knives (4) are arranged at an equal distance (a) from one another on a knife shaft (2) mounted rotatably in a bearing housing (1). A supporting frame (5) can be fastened releasably to the bearing housing (1) and carries a guide rod (8). A slide (9) is displaceable on the guide rod (8) in the longitudinal direction of the latter. Mounted on the slide (9) is a drive device (13) having a grinding wheel (14), the axis of rotation (15) of which extends parallel to the guide rod (8). Arranged exchangeably parallel to the guide rod (8) in the supporting frame (5) is a dividing bar (10), the division distances (t) of which correspond to the distances (a) between the knives (4). An index pin (17) cooperating with the division (18) of the dividing bar (10) is arranged on the slide (9). By means of a displacement device (16, 16a), the slide (9) can be moved relative to the index pin (18) in the longitudinal direction of the guide rod (8). <IMAGE>
